Artist Statement

My artistic practice is an act of excavation—an intuitive dialogue between the canvas and the subconscious, operating outside academic paths from my studio in Šentjur. I focus on internal landscapes, starting each piece without a preconceived idea. Layers of paint are applied in spontaneous gestures until the composition reaches an inevitable state.This process serves as a metaphor for wild apples found in the forest—often overlooked for their size or bitterness, yet retaining intrinsic value. I excavate and reconcile fragmented parts of personal inviting the viewer into a timeless space.

As a self-taught artist, who entered the scene later in life, I approach abstraction with the weight of lived experience. My visual language develops from within, infusing immediate, current emotions with both personal and collective history.
