About me

Artist Statement

My practice is an act of excavation—a continuous dialogue between the canvas and the unconscious. Based in Celje, Slovenia, I work intuitively;

unconcerned with capturing the visible world, I focus my practice entirely on the inner landscape.

Each painting begins without a preconceived idea; I apply paint in spontaneous, layered strokes, allowing the composition to unfold until it reaches a state that feels inevitable.

This process is deeply metaphorical, much like the wild apples I once encountered in a forest. Often overlooked for their size or perceived bitterness, they contain a profound, hidden value—much like the forgotten, fragmented parts of our own past that I seek to unearth and reconcile through my work.

Exhibition History & Recognition

Key exhibition highlights include a solo presentation at Kvartirna Hiša gallery in Celje and a solo online exhibition curated by British curator Poli Cardenas. Most recently, I have been honoured with an invitation from Mice Jankulovski, director of the Osten Biennial, to take part in the open call for their current exhibition.

Portfolio

My portfolio is presented as a cohesive narrative, organized into five distinct chapters:

BIRTH, SPACE, CARNA, TWINS, and VIGOR.

This progression tracks the evolution of my practice, beginning with raw, intuitive impulses of RAW and SPACE and developing into the complex, structural explorations of CARNA, TWINS and VIGOR. I invite the viewer to engage with this body of work not as a collection of separate pieces, but as a continuous unfolding of a single, internal journey.
